Celebrating 8th March, International Women’s Day.
Majority of school going girls either end up dropping out of school because of various reasons, which include; early pregnancies, families favoring to educate boys more than girls, stigma during their menstrual days, and many other reasons.
Padre Pio Rural Development Initiative seeks to address gender gaps in digital skills and experiences by supporting the strengthening and expansion of locally-tailored interventions that intentionally reach standards for AGYW within Greater Masaka Region.
This time round, PAPIRUDEI intends to put the focus more on the girlchild (Adolescent Girls and Young Women, 10 to 19 years), with an emphasis of:
Empowering AGYW with basic computer skills.
This is intended to balance the scale or opportunities between the boychild and girlchild on the world market. The project is slated to start on 8th March at Padre Pio Rural Development Initiative, head quarters in Vvuma, Kyotera District.
